The band recently held it’s Annual General Meeting.
We reflected on what was another season of progress with continued membership growth and noted the band is well placed to continue its quest for continuous improvement and competitive success.
We also formally accepted Pipe Major Benjamin McLaughlin’s desire to step down after 6 seasons in charge and are pleased to report that Adam Michie has now been appointed in the role going forward.
Additionally, whilst it’s not a constitutionally voted position at the AGM, existing Lead Drummer Louis Norton also expressed his desire to step aside after 4 seasons in charge. We are pleased to advise that Gemma Pullan has now been appointed in this role going forward.
After a period of relative stability in the leadership of the band we are excited about working with these new leaders. They are class players in their own right and offer a wealth of expertise in areas the band are keen to explore. They have our full support, with both Ben and Louis remaining in the band as regular playing members.
Now, time to dust of the practice chanters/sticks and start learning some new music…
